I've seen this one going around LJ, so I figured that I'd post my own. Here are my top seven pairings for the fandoms I fiend on the most:



07. Master/Lucy



Yes indeed. I loved this one. The Master and his broken companion, but not too broken that she couldn't go against him in the end. This pairing makes me wonder just how he managed to break her. It makes me want to see (or read about) it with my own eyes. Maybe it's the sadistic side of me that comes out with this one.


06. Ivanova/Winters



Oh so many missed chances with this one. The Babylon 5 pairing that stopped just short of being canon femslash. Well, at least there's some good fic to fill that void.


05. Master/Martha



Oh that scene. Well, I guess there are a couple of scenes, not the least of which was the one where the Master commands her to kneel that makes me ship this one. It's just full of potential for dark!fic, how could someone like me not ship it? Especially since Martha wouldn't be an easy woman to break, and seeing him try would just be epic.


04. Garibaldi/Bester



Hate and obsession is what drives this one, especially on Garibaldi's part if you've read the books. The canon banter and verbal sparring matches between these two made me wish that Bester was more of a fixture on Babylon 5 than just an intermittent reoccurring character. At first I shipped this one thinking I was half mad, then found some saucy fic that showed me that I wasn't alone in my madness. I'm still mourning the loss of that fan site... racy B5 fic as far as your mouse could click. *sigh*


03. Doctor/Martha



Oh hush, I hear some of you moaning. But I still love this pairing and probably always will. Despite canon, or maybe because of canon in a way. It's such a bittersweet kind of pairing. It's the kind that makes you wonder about what could have been - all the ways it could have played out positively or ended in heartbreak. I love the canon interaction the two of them had (Smith and Jones will always be one of my favorite eps). I like how Martha grew over Season 3, from starry-eyed girl to a woman who had to face the reality of her situation. Bringing up her name in fandom seems to cause wank for some reason, but Martha and the relationship she had with Ten will always be one of my favorites. And it makes for great angsty fic, of course.


02. Gene/Sam



Oh Gene/Sam. Or Sam/Gene, if I'm in the mood. I like this pairing because it's a canon bromance (I love that word), it really is. But of course, I like the even slashier implications of this one. And not to mention the fact that the Gene character exists partly for Sam to work out his daddy issues. Oh, dear - kinky. I am pretty much in love with this pairing in ways I haven't been with some others. It helps that Life on Mars was such a wonderful series to me, of course.


01. Doctor/Master



Oddly enough, I think I first got into this pairing when I was a wee lass watching Who on PBS. Seriously. And that might be a little frightening since the first Master I saw was the corpse version when Baker was the Doctor (Unfortunately, they didn't show much of Three when I was a kid - had to find those when I was a bit older). I love pairings that are based on obsession, so this is one of my favorites bar none when it comes to my live-action fandoms. I like the gentlemanly rivalry you get from Three/Delgado!Master, but I think I might be more fond of the even darker side of the pairing when you get into the Doctor & Master's later incarnations.
